Chris Putnam founded Putnam Funeral Home in 2000. In 2006, he added an onsite crematory. Putnam Crematory is the only crematory located in Llano County and the only independent crematory in the Texas Highland Lakes Area.
We believe that the funeral service is not only a tribute to the deceased, but more importantly, a positive experience for those left behind. Many decisions are made in a short period of time when a death occurs and with our compassionate understanding, we help loved ones make practical and informed selections. Chris has said many times “we are here to promote positive grieving, if a family has a bad experience with our funeral home, then we did not do our job”. By keeping this statement in mind with every funeral service we provide, Putnam Funeral Home & Crematory has increased the level of service and has become a leading funeral home in the Texas Highland Lakes Area.
Chris Putnam was born and raised in the Texas Hill Country. He was born in Kerrville and raised in Fredericksburg. He is a licensed funeral director, embalmer, and a certified crematory operator. After graduating from Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in 1995, he moved to Austin and began his career with Cook-Walden Funeral Homes. He worked in the Austin area until he established Putnam Funeral Home in 2000.
He is a member of the Kingsland First Baptist Church, past-president of the Kingsland/Lake LBJ Chamber of Commerce, Lake Buchanan/Inks Lake Chamber of Commerce, Llano Chamber of Commerce, past-vice-president of the Kingsland Lions Club, and an endowed member of the Kingsland Masonic Lodge #1424. Putnam Funeral Home was Kingsland/Lake LBJ Business of the year in 2003 and Chris received the Distinguished Service Award in 2006. |
