Dean Edwin Steele

Dean Edwin Steele, 73 years of age, died on January 19, 2010 in Austin, Texas. He was born on April 4, 1936 to Donald and Edna Lacey Steele in Los Angeles, California.
After his schooling he entered the U.S. Army serving in Korea and Viet Nam in the Army Special Forces Medics. Upon discharge he worked in Industrial Construction as a safety engineer.
Dean was a great cook and enjoyed sharing his recipes with family and friends. He loved reading and fishing. His greatest passion was being a full time RV’er. In 2000 he and his wife, Mary purchased a motor coach and began a 7 year experience of full time RV’ers. In 2007 they settled in Buchanan Dam.
Dean is survived by his wife, Mary Steele, of Buchanan Dam, TX, sons, Dennis Smith and wife Lee, of Killeen, David Hill and wife Monica, of Cedar Park, Morris Lane, of Longview, Texas, daughter, Natalie Meyers and husband Chip, of Eunice, New Mexico, ten grandchildren and one great grandchild, sister: Debbie Noreiga, Corona, CA and a niece and nephew also.
Memorial services will be held at the Putnam Funeral Home 145 Texas Avenue, Kingsland, Texas on Friday January 22, 2010 at 2:00 pm. An online guest register may be signed at www.putnamfunerals.com.
