Roy Handley Kent Jr
October 13, 1928 - January 31, 2010
Roy Handley Kent, Jr. 81 years of age died on January 31, 2010 in Iraan, Texas. He was a native of Wheeler, Texas, son of R.H. and Cordelia Elizabeth Bolick Kent.
After his schooling, Roy entered the U.S. Navy and became a Master Machinist. He later applied that trade in the water well service industry. He owned and operated Big 3 Machine and Supply Company in Coyonosa, Texas and later in Ft. Stockton, TX. His love of the Hill Country brought him to Kingsland where he began Guide Fishing on Lake Buchanan. He returned to school in his fifties and became a Real Estate Agent and continued that until his retirement. He loved to fish and anything else that included water. He was an avid sports fan. If you could race it, Hit it, throw it or catch it Roy would watch it.
Roy is survived by his wife, Bobbie Kent, sons, J.H. Kent, Clint Kent, James Kent and Roy Kent III, daughter, Carlota St. Pierre ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Visitations were held at the Putnam Funeral Home in Kingsland. Funeral services were held at Putnam Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 3:00 pm. Interment was held at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet, Texas with the Highland Lakes Honor Guard presenting full military honors.
